Job Overview
We are looking for a Sales Development Representative to act as the liaison between our Marketing and Sales teams. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers. In this role, you will make outbound calls to potential clients who have expressed interest in learning more about Marchex’ capabilities or appear to be strong potential customers based upon our ideal customer profile and general market focus.

The Sales Development Representative qualifies prospective customers through targeted questions about their business strategy to include information them about Marchex’ offering and establishes the probability of the prospect being a good match for Marchex’ services.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with prospects, from first contact until you set the appointment for the Commercial or Enterprise Sales team. You will also ensure proper pass-off to the Commercial or Enterprise Sales team. If you are motivated and results-driven, and enjoy working in a team environment, we’d like to meet you.

The Sales Development Representative has an opportunity to play a critical role in growing our Analytics business by prospecting and setting appointments and partnering with our Commercial and Enterprise Sales teams.

The Sales Development team is responsible for driving new customer relationships from a defined target account list of mid-size and major companies while also fielding inbound leads.

Outline of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Setup meetings and present Marchex products to potential clients via phone and email communications.
  • Make outbound calls to prospects who have expressed interest in learning more about Marchex.
  • Make outbound calls to prospects who are considered an ideal customer profile and part of the target account list.
  • Qualify potential prospects by asking questions to determine potential fit for Marchex products.
  • Record prospect information in Salesforce.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in an inside/outside sales environment preferred.
  • Experience working in and understanding a goal oriented, fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to see tasks through to successful completion.
  • Results driven and highly motivated self-starter with demonstrated initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Overall positive attitude, team-player orientation and willingness to be flexible in a changing environment.
  • Experience using a windows-based PC, a CRM tool such as Salesforce, and intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as successfully function independently.
Working Conditions     
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting and may be fully or partially remote.  Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day.  Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.

($45,000 - $68,000 USD)

Compensation range listed above may include base salary and short and/or long-term incentives. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
